Wondering if anyone had a small car they are pleased with, is reliable and doesn`t cost a fortune to run. Have had the Aygo for nearly 4 years and fancy a change. Hubby uses it to travel to and from work so does about 12,000miles a year. Its been very reliable and we would consider another one just wondered if anyone thought there were better cars out there to have a look at. Thanks

Personally, I would recommend getting another Aygo! Can't think of another car of that size that would be more economical - you should get a good price for your old one - they are holding their price really well, sell it privately, they are fairly sort after!Genie

Our Aygo is three next week. Asked my wife if she wants to change and she said no as she can't think of anything else which would fit the bill for the money.
A Yaris is more grown up and will be just as reliable, but I didn't enjoy driving one as much as the Aygo.0 -
Apparently they have performed brilliantly in the snow too!Genie

Like you, our Aygo Sport was great, we sold ours last October and bought a Corsa, I liked the Aygo but the space in the boot was a pain in the backside.
I hated having to lift the shelf everytime i wanted to put anything in and it didnt hold much. And it was difficult getting anyone in and out of the back seat.
Now the Corsa Design, i cannot recommend highly enough. Smooth, economical,
loads of bootspace, started first time after a fortnight sat in the snow.
We bought it pre-reg 09 and it only had 18 miles on the clock, saved thousands on the new price which is what we actually were looking at to start with.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
The boot space/arrangement is the weakest point on the Aygo IMO, however I would almost lay money that the Corsa will not be as reliable.0

I will agree the Aygo is so reliable, apart from new tyres and wipers not needed anything doing to it. Before this we had the old style Yaris and that was just as reliable.0

When I replaced my Aygo I bought a Yaris TR Diesel, but if I was to be looking now I would be quite tempted by the Toyota IQ, the manual 1.0 one, you don't have to pay road tax, due to the low emissions.0

I looked at the IQ weh it first came out but its a little too small.0

If you're after another small car I don't think you'll go far wrong with a Toyota Yaris - you don't hear a bad word said about them in general. Also the Skoda Fabia has a good reputation.
Have a look at the small car section of Parkers.co.uk - you can read the reviews of the owners who actually live with the cars and this could help you make an informed decision.
Personally I drive a 54 1.3CDTI Corsa and it's absolutely fantastic - reliable, economical, cheap to tax and insure and nice to drive!

Have a look round Citroen garages (or Drivethedeal or others on the net) for the outgoing C2 especially the Diesel...should be some bargains about.
2 door only though.0
