Having already paid for them. How many have been able to rearrange or get refunds? Especially sale rooms such as Travelodge and De Veres.
I realise that they have terms and conditions, but surely they could try to be a little bit flexible considering its not the customers fault, although I know its not the company's faults either.

Saver rooms are non-refundable with Travelodge. It is not their fault either and whilst you may want your £9, £12 or £29 back, scale that up over all the rooms for Travelodge and your suggestion could be bankcrupting the company if they were to give the money back to everyone, who could not turn up because of the snow.
Sometimes you have to think about the bigger picture, thousands of rooms for hundreds of hotels that have been affected by clients not being able to travel. That amounts to thousands of pounds, literally.
I had a De Veres booked last year when the snow hit and we decided not to go. I could not get a refund then either and just had to write it off as bad luck.I want to be credit card and loan free by Christmas 20100 -
To be fair, its not a travelodge, its a De Veres room that I have booked, a £19 one and when I rung to enquire if it would be possible to amend it to a different night the operator informed that a lot of people had been ringing to see if that was possible and that the hotels where inflexible.
I realise that they wont refund, but surely they could check to see if they had plenty of availability any evenings and maybe compromise with customers.0 -
I would write to head office, explaining that 'in light of the unusual and extreme weather condition' whether they would consider allowing you to change to a different date. Whilst we know that they are acting within their rights as per their T&C's, trying to appeal to better nature works better in these types of situations.:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0

Not really sure the weather is relevant.. In most of these places you have the option of buying a "full price" room which would afford you this flexibilty.
If you had a flight booked but couldnt get to the airport you wouldnt expect a refund then (assuming the plane was still flying of course)...0
