Man-sized pastry maker?

My husband likes to make pastry with one of those things that looks like a cross between a potato masher and a knuckle-duster. He used to have a large one from Canada, but it eventually wore out and now he cannot find one to fit his (average-sized male) hands - they are all made to fit women's hands. Does anyone know where we might get a larger one?

It's just a suggestion, but do you live anywhere near one of those 'trade' catering equipment places that are open to the public? Something made for professionals might be a bit more generously sized than something made for home use.0

I think my mum's got one from lakeland plastics, but I've got small hands so I don't know whether it would be big enough. She also uses it for mashing carrots and swede with some butter so it's still got a bit of texture!

Thanks for the ideas - I looked on the Lakeland site and on Nisbet's who I thought did absolutely everything and can't see any at all. Does anyone know what they are called?0

The item is called a "pastry blender" which may help you find one.
There is a review - unfortunately US based - here:

Gingernutmeg makes a good point about trying to find a trade source, I looked on a few trade catalogues online but couldn't find one, probably because in a catering environment you would be making pastry in larger amounts than you can do by hand in general. Still worth having a look though.
I would try and get one with a fairly plain handle, avoid ones with finger mouldings as they may not suit larger hands. There is one on Amazon that looks promising but it doesn't give a size:

120504629109 on Ebay looks a possibility too.0

Thanks for that - Nisbet's is a great catering site but I guess you're right that you wouldn't be making it by hand in the catering business.0

This one gives measurements as 11x12 cms, dunno if that helps?

The standard seems to be 4" which is what the kind man on ebay measured his as - unfortunately no one seems to tell you the handle measurement in the descriptions.0

Ness I've seen quite a few different ones on Amazon. There's one by Faringdon which has a 12cm handle.
I'm glad you asked this question because I was considering buying one and wanted to know how well thay work. Perhaps you could let me know!Less is more0 -
Just saw another one...the Master Class Professional and that measures 13cm x 13cm!Less is more0
