All our money goes into a joint account with a separate one for savings. I am more organised than my OH. So i make sure the bills are paid - but otherwise he can help himself to what he wants.

I tend to leave him at home to do the weekly shop - because he is the supermarkets dream - he wanders every aisle with no list and just picks up what he likes the look of.

A major lightbulb moment in Dec this year - HE decided to clear the larder - was amazed at the food we have in - it was borderline hoarding, and has agreed that we only shop for what we NEED from now on - and try to use up what we have ( storecupboard challenge by any other name).

He is wasteful - all the lights on, doors open and heating on when he is only wearing a t shirt - but its slow progress, becoming less wasteful and more careful is something i am gradually selling as an idea. he is getting better - but i did come home the other night to find him in a shortsleeve shirt - CH on and the money burning gas fire on full in the lounge ( curtains still open although it was dark)

Still by the look of the grocery budget this month - i am making slow progress - determined not to become an overbearing nag - rather make slow changes - and change HIM slowly too:D
