And who pays the bills?

OH and the kids just don't seem to understand how each light bulb left on, or door left open makes managing the household budget harder - but then they don't pay the bills.

So what's the situation in your house?

raksha by 'pays the bills' do you mean who is responsible for dealing with bills as they come in, and paying them, or do you mean pays the bills as in 'earns the money to pay for them'?

oh dear, in that case I've voted myself in the wrong catagory - DH earns the money but I sort out the bills.

I think I'm much more careful with money just because I don't earn any. DH works so hard so that I can be a SAHM and home educate our daughters - so I don't want to take that for granted.

All our bills are on standing order or direct debit so nobody deals with them in terms of paying them but I do all the budgetting/spreadsheets etc so does that count?

I voted in the wrong catagory as DH earns alot more than me and the bills are paid by direct debit .

I do all the budgeting and spreadsheets and any 'nice' things such as meals out or even holidays I save for.

I do get fed up continually turning lights off and shutting doors and reminding them not to waste stuff
