Can anyone help ?
my sons laptop has gone funny! Its 3 weeks old, and the pictures, screen saver has gone fuzzy , like a sandstorm picture ??
the writing is ok, but any pictures or images are fuzzy
Its Windows 7 compaq, he hasnt changed any settings
any ideas

It could be running in a low resolution and/or colour depth.
On Windows 7 - right mouse click on the desktop, select 'screen resolution' click the current resolution and pull the slider right to the top. Then click advanced settings, select the 'monitor' tab, and make sure 'colors' is set to 'true color (32 bit)'0 -

It's hard to say without seeing the problem. Something could have got messed up in Windows, maybe the video driver - or it could be a hardware problem with the LCD or video chip.
The only quick way I can think of to eliminate an OS problem without going down a factory restore route would be to boot off something like an Ubuntu live CD. If the graphics are bad under that, then it's back to the shop - if they are ok, then it's more troubleshooting.
You would need to download an ISO image, burn it to CD (as an image), and boot off the CD (just boot, not install).0 -
