Beannie it took a long time for me to be happy but I suddenly realised one day that I was trying to confirm to other peoples views but actually no one elses mattered.

It's like when you walk down the street and look at someone and think - my god what do they look like.....you don't see the person....you don't know the person and you instantly forget them......no one but the people that matter to me have interest in who I am and if they didn't like me, they wouldn't still be in my life.

I've seen a lot of you on FB, I've not looked at anyone and thought "my god how could they be like that", I've looked and seen happy families, people sending loving thoughts and comments and being supportive....It's how you see yourself that matters and that's what you need to work on....and I really don't think that can be defined by a certain weight, shape or size...

  • i don't think we should fixate on being a certain weight... if you don't hit your target you'll only beat yourself up and feel worse.

i think you should look to be a certain size - i want to be a 16/18.....

True, I think being part of a 'fat club' at work doesn't help, where our leader is always drumming into us our target weight.

    I'm a 14/16 and would like to be a 12/14!

I think the Baileys has gone to my fingers.

    I think when I've reached 13stone 3 I'll be happy.

My problem is my OH works away for 3 and a bit months at a time, so times I do comfort eat. I try not to buy naughty stuff but sometimes I give into temptation.

Why is there hardly any decent offers on fresh stuff?

Exactly what I was saying the other day on the loose weight thread.

Don't know if you have a Morrisons near you Beanie - they have some good offers on fruit and veg - or they did when I last went in last Monday.

Because the producers of healthy stuff are generally small farmers who have no money. Producers of crap food are multi national companies with collosal budgets for marketing and able to subsidise offers on their products....

    Here endeth my rant ;)

    Rant away Sally.

I read Tescopoly a few years ago and I'm sure that was one of the things they mentioned and the pressue they put on small producers to grow the perfect apple/strawberry etc.

Having dated a dairy farmer in the past he was squeezed by the supermarkets all the time!
