Scanning Software

I too had little faith in OCR software until quite recently. I was lent an old pamphlet that contained a French-English specialised lexicon, and set in 6.5pt print. I wanted to be able to re-set it with the possibility of additions and minor updates/corrections.
The software supplied free with my scanner was of little help, but I downloaded a 30-day trial of ReadIris Pro, and loaded the image with little expectation.
The result was remarkable, with almost every letter read accurately, accents distinguished correctly, line spacing correct etc. I haven't attempted any output to spreadsheet, but judging by the results with this demanding task, well worth a try at no cost.0 -
