I can't get a BT !!

I have a Barclaycard with £1100 and a Capital One card with £1000. I am managing to pay more than the minimum every month no problem and have never missed a payment. My credit rating used to be poor, but in the last 2 years I have never missed a payment for ANYTHING !

But I have been refused a Balance Transfer from GE Capital based cards and MBNA cards.

Can anyone suggest anything I can do, I dont want to keep applying for cards and affect my credit even more, I have applied for 3 already with no luck.

You are rather stuck if you have made 3 applications already - any more and you will look increasingly desperate.

You should obtain a copy of your credit report from experian or equifax and try to see what is going on if you think that you shoud be accepted.

Other factors come into play though including anything you put on your application form, such as time at address, time in current job, income, other outgoings, postcode etc.

Who do you bank with? Could you get a lower interest loan maybe and pay off that way. Might be some useful ideas on the debt free wannabe board too.
