Flights to US

Hi All,

I am trying to book a flight to Las Vegas or LAX. I've had a look at the different prices.

Does anyone know if there are certain days that are cheaper to fly than others?

And also are there websites that will tell you about charter flight to those areas

I would be greatfull for a respone.

PS thanks for all the responses to previous thread.

Dave

I have just booked flights to the US. Basically lots of searching of the usual suspects (Expedia, Travelocity, Ebookers, Opodo etc) to find the cheapest date & route (found midweek was cheapest). One of them, Travelocity I think, lets you search a few days either side of the chosen one for the cheapest flight.

I also found that once you find the best flight through one of the brokers, find out which airline it is then go to their website to book - exact same flight was £10 cheaper.

(Well at least it worked with American Airlines and also Continental Airlines when I was doing a comparison).

BA.com lets you search 14 days either side of your selected date, effectively a whole month, this will show you any blips in popularity and price, fri, sat and sun seem to be £15 e/w more.

Once you have found cheaper times, shop around to see if you can better it. BA fly non-stop to LA but you will have to change for Vegas.

Try http://www.airline-network.co.uk which will compare the scheduled flights for you. There is a marginal price advantage if you travel mon-thursday.
Try BA direct http://www.ba.com also Virgin do a lot to Vegas and LAX.
If you have any airmiles you can use them to partially pay for flights and using the airmiles BA deal finder will also show you month by month when the cheaper times are likely to be.

You don't say when you want to go but if its December you will find there is a cut off date leading up to Xmas after which there is a huge price increase. In 2005 it was 16 December.
