Enterprise won't, minumum 12 months, and maybe longer for a large vehicle. Get a friedn to rent it and drive it for you. And yes they will have to pay on their card, and also take responcibility for the xs.0

Hmmm friends of ours rented a van for her Dad to drive to move house, the van was in the Dad's name but they were down for all the financial side. This was enterprise, so at leats some must allow it?0 -

no this is wrong. my mate hired a van and i drove it, he was responsible for any damage or excess fees not me.and was all paid on his card.
buisnesses hire vans all the time for employees to drive meaning the employer is responsible for any fees not the driver....work permit granted!0 -
I've heard local, smaller companies are more likely to allow it, but almost certainly with a higher excess than everyone else. Have a ring round.0

If you do find a company, pay the extra few pound for the full insurance cover.0

Yeah I dont mind paying over to insure us properly because it will still end up much cheaper than the alternatives (man with a van, etc).
Ok Im gonna ring round some independents. Secondarily get my dad on the case (really crossing my fingers not too, he is a very very grumpy old man).
Thanks for everyones help.Aim - BUYING A HOUSE  by November 2013!Saved = 100% on 03/07/12 :j0 -

i think its 12 months minimum you would have held your license. How ever if your in a location to get one of these, i would suggest it. Its a cheap option but then again you have to sing up for membership. I have been using them everytime i need to move something big.0
