Hi, i put four items on Ebay and they have all sold. They were bought in auctions and not as buy it nows.....each item was bought by a different buyer (all new-ish buyers ie won 15 auctions,9 auctions etc but none are totally new!) but it seems a bit weird - all the auctions finished this morning but none of the buyers have paid yet. I specified PayPal only and i have sent the invoices - is this normal?? I have only sold a few things before on Ebay but the buyers have always paid straight away....was this just pure luck/coincidence?? I always pay straight away so maybe its just because of this that it seems odd to me......??
I just thought one out of four might have paid by now.....? Not that i can get to a post office to post the items anyway lol! Blinkin' snow!!!
Oh - forgot to ask...i just wondered IS there a time limit on people for when they should pay by?? How does that all work??!

Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?

4 days now before you can open a dispute it changed a few months back. Though They can still pay up to day 8 when you can close the dispute
Its Friday a lot of people buy a few things and pay for them later in the weekend0 -
Hiya again - two of the bidders still haven't paid... they won the auctions on the 8th January - this will sound sily but if it is 4 days before i can start a dispute, would i do so tomorrow (being the 4th day since the auction being won) or on Wednesday?? Does that make sense lol? Do i include the auction day in the 4 day rule or not?

One of the winning bidders who hasnt paid has a weird name, it is just made up of random numbers which seems odd ( or maybe i am just suspicious!) and only has 9 "feedbacks"......the other has only got about 40 feedbacks.....does anyone send like a gentle reminder at this stage?? Not sure what i would put "just to remind you that you won said auction on 8th january........??"

I normally leave it 7 days at least before chasing or opening disuptes. your safety net is that the items are still with you. It's a bit of waiting game...0

I normally send an invoice on day 3. If they haven't paid by day 4 I open a dispute as if they don't pay at least on day 8 I can close the dispute get my fees back and relist0

oooh do you get fees back then? How does that work - do they give u money back or just let u relist for free? I thought i just lost out lol!Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Ebay will refund the final fee back to your account, once you have closed the dispute and will allow to relist the item for free (Auction -style listings only) if you qualify.
'Qualify' is nothing but your ended listing should be a Auction style and it can be relisted again in Auction style only for free.....
Hope this helps....2010 £10K Challenge:

I would certainly contact them politely before just opening a dispute - they may still be intending to pay and you will annoy them by opening a dispute too soon.0
