Ripping tracks and 8+ y.o. CD player

For a friend, who has an 8 y.o. stand alone CD player (possibly 10 or more as he got it S/H:D), I have ripped some tracks. Thing is, as his player is quite "mature", I am not sure of the best file format to burn it to.

Any advice, so he can play both on the player and his cptr? Thanks.

If you burn a CD from MP3s using say, Windows Media Player, you just say Burn Audio CD. It will create a standard Digital CD (not MP3 any more). You need to burn to a CD-ROM not a CD-RW of course.

If you want to play the tracks on a stand alone CD player then you will have to burn the the CD with CDA file format. (CDA stands for Compact Disk Audio)

Note: CDA files don't really exist.
