I have just had my first couple of phone conversations with creditors, telling them that i can't pay and am setting up a DMP with CCCS. I was dreading telling people, i felt so much like mrs stupid failure when i first realised i had let my debt get out of control, but having told them, it didn't actually feel so bad. Partly because the people i spoke to (at HFC and westcot), were really nice about it (i guess going through a well respected organisationlike CCCS helps), partly because my sheer relief at knowing the worst bit is over is a stronger feeling than embarrasment, and partly because since using this forum, i know that i am very much not the only one in my position - thanks guys!

all the best with it all. i'm glad you're getting it sorted. and you're right, relief is a much bigger, better feeling than embarrassment. so is self control, which you are exercising in huge amounts at the minute.
