CH & SB: cordless phones on more than one line

I've tried getting some info on this on the techie board, but it occurred to me some of you will have separate landlines for home and business in close proximity, and what I want to know is,

will two cordless phones

on separate base stations 'attached' to two different phone lines

but in close physical proximity

interfere with each other?

Does that make sense?

I don't think they will - my Dad has about four Dect phones and I think he configured them to each base.

In fact I think he can receive calls from either line on any of the phones - when it rings its says "Line 1" or "Line 2".

Its so when someone is on a line, another person can use a different line to make a call...

Now that does sound clever! Perhaps a bit too clever for me ... Plus incoming calls on the work phones divert automatically if one is engaged.
