  • It would never have occurred to me to use tins of condensed soup for meals but there are so many meals to make using them! Easy meals too!! Although like thriftlady I'm concerned about the ingredients, I think I might take a look when I go shopping this weekend and see what's in them.

I normally stir fry left over chicken and veg, tip over the tin of soup and leave to simmer for a few mins. Serve with boiled pasta. Quick and easy!
Here I go again on my own....

    Chicken & mushroom lasagne

One thing I have done is with some left over chicken, mushrooms, courgette, miz with a chopped onion, and some milk, simmer for a bit then lay between lasagne sheets, top off with a bit of cheese sauce, serve with garlic bread

    YUM

Haven't made it for ages but as I recall it was really tasty.

    Chopped up chicken fillets
    Peas (frozen)
    Chopped mushrooms

Bung in a casserole dish in the oven and serve with rice (I add turmeric to my rice so the dish doesn't look too insipid) and salad. You can chuck in any spare veg you have, carrots, broc etc.

    Yum - feeling hungry.:D

We make up an easy tuna pasta bake using:-

    1 tin tuna chunks (drained)
1 tin campbells condensed soup (cream of mushroom or cream of chicken)
    Pasta shapes of spaghetti
    Grated cheese

Cook the pasta and drain, put pasta into a large oven proof casserole dish. Mix in condensed soup and tuna. Top with grated cheese and pop into the oven at 180C and heat through until cheese is golden. We serve this with lots of salad.

This sounds really tasty, especially if you have people coming round you can do all the work in advance and just bring it to the table - thank you.:T

one of our stand-by meals is chicken in white wine:

    chicken breast/left overs
    onion chopped
can cambells condensed chicken in white wine sauce
    mushroom chopped

cook onion and mushrooms, add chicken and cook. Add soup. Rinse out can with wine, and add. Cook through. Serve with veggies and rice

    yummy!

I would add curry powder, left over fruit and veg (I love bananas in curry) and serve with rice.

I use tins of Heinz tomato soup instead of pasta sauces. Much nicer and creamer.

Can anyone tell me if they contain MSG,maltodextrin, modified starch or other stuff like that,or are they just ordinary ingredients ? The Campbells' website isn't very helpful on ingredients.

Not been online much, had the "bug". If it's not too late I've looked at my Campbells soups. Tomato contains modified maizestarch, mushroom and chicken contain MSG and lots of "others" After I've used these up I'll not be getting anymore!
You never get a second chance to make a first impression.
  • We do a chicken "muck muck"   .....basically leftover chicken with a leek or onion, a few mushrooms and sometimes sweetcorn. Warm through in pan the put in a pie using either fresh or ready made pastry. Put in oven for 25 mins and serve with mash and veg......luverly:D
