MSE News: Coventry launches top-paying savings account

If you don't want to read all the links, the rate for the 1st year of Coventry postal savings is:
3.3% (issues 1, 2 and 3)
3.15% (issue 4) <---- the new account you can open
You can only ever open one 1st class postal account - even if you've closed an earlier one.0 -
Anyone that sent off for an application for the 3.3% issue 3 still has time to send it in.
The deadline is Saturday 6th Feb,all applications must be received by then.
I sent mine off today after looking at issues 1,2 and 3,which all paid 3.3% and now that rate has been cut to 3.15%.
It seems at the moment the general trend on saving rates are downwards, yet inflation is on the way up!:(
Can`t really lose with this at 3.3% because you can still get at your dough if a much better rate comes along.0 -
Don't suppose anyone has a link or .pdf of issue 3 application form have they?? Kicking myself for missing this one - too busy head down in tax return and lost it!!! Would really appreciate if if there is one hanging around0

There was no online application form.
You could, online, request a form that was then sent out by post.
The account,as the name suggests, can only be operated by post and not online.
Issue 4 is available now but has been reduced to 3.15% a cut of .15%.
Anyone who gets one of these accounts can only ever have one,no matter how many more come out.
(well that`s what Coventry say for now)0 -
Thanks 2010 - did not realise that - was hoping it was one of the many print and complete application forms. Have requested issue 4 pack as still good deal.0

This postal account can be viewed online if you already have an online account with the Cov.

Just a pity that online viewing doesn't have online access.
Cheque withdrawals with postage time, inconvenience of going to bank and clearance times - it can take more than a week to get funds:sad:0 -

Coventry are always bringing out decent paying accounts and if one comes along there`s nothing to stop you applying and then transferring the funds from your "postal" account.0 -
