in Credit cards
Hi Folks,
I recently applied for a customer services role for a banking organisation. They informed me that any job offer would be subject to a credit check and asked me whether this will be a problem. I told them that i had problems in the past and had two defaults but they had been satisfied and as of now i have no balance outstanding.
Anyway, I passed the interview but failed the credit check. The lady said there must be something adverse there. I explained to her that it must have been the defaults but everything's all settled. So she said to me that i need to obtain a letter of satisfaction from the lenders. I have contacted the Credit Card company and they shall be sending my some similar letter soon. However, i rang Vodafone and they said they could not locate my credit history and that i would have to send them my credit file so they could verify it.
This is what it said on my file regarding my contract with Vodafone

Anything to be worried about here?
Anyway, I have requested my cred file from Experian and will send it to them as soon as.
Now. I'm quite confused because my friend had a few defaults yet he managed to obtain a job in a financial servies organisation. Yet i failed, although they might have failed me on the grounds that i may have not passed the credit check for opening a bank account with them which was a condition of employment.
Any advice, it will be much appreciated.

Are you trying to get a job with NATWEST, my OH tried there and was doing well until they checked her CF and from that she didn't get the job. I think it depends on the type of Bank or institution.
Try and get the Defaults removed I have 3 of them 2 are cleared, and I've read on here that you can write to the compnay that gave you your defaults and they may consider removing them if you've settled them.

Hi,
It was to HSBC organisation. However, the thing I don't understand is that I have paid them. Therefore, they should show as settled, which the credit report suggests they do.
Therefore, what difference will a letter of satisfaction make?0
