How much spending money

I am going to Tenerife with two friends on 30/6/06 for 2 weeks and are staying on a half board basis for 2 weeks and wondering how much spending money I would need to last for 2 weeks.

At the moment I have changed over £993 which has got me 1410 euros

Would this be enough as I am not taking any back up money i.e. switch / credit card

For two weeks that sounds like masses. What do you intend doing .. renting out jet skis, water skiing, trips to various theme parks etc. or is it an all alchohol and dance trip? If you are on half-board food should be no more than £10-20 a day (max)

I would however suggest that you do take a credit card with you for those little emergencies (you never know when you might need extra cash). Assuming your room or the hotel has a safe you could leave it there so that you do not have to carry it about with you.

Sounds like more than enough to me too - even if you decide to rent a car or do some expensive excursions. As Ivan said though, take a credit card if possible as they can sometimes be useful in emergencies.

The only reason I was taking this much money is that I don't really want to take a credit card in case I lost it and could not be bothered with the hassle of canceling the card etc while away.

We are actually planning to use jetski's etc and maybge try some scuba diving

Remember the Golden Rule when packing your case:

Take half as much stuff and twice as much money!

far less hassle losing a grand in used notes than cancelling a credit card ??????????? some mistake surely ?
