this one in Lynmouth would have AMAZING views!! http://www.torshotellynmouth.co.uk/weddings.php

This is well pricey but looks lovely! (i am a tease lol!) http://www.pickwellmanor.co.uk/

I shall keep looking and adding lol! ;)

This one is supposed to lovely....have had people i know stay there and say it was good! http://www.brend-hotels.co.uk/TheSauntonSands/Home.cfm (just down the coast from woolacombe - halfway between there are Barnstaple kind of lol!)

LOL - just looked at those three on trip advisor...not surprisingly the very pricey one (pickwell) is coming up with the best reviews.....i think the trouble is that MOST of the hotels come up with kind of "so-so" reviews because one mans hovel is another mans mansion etc etc!

Pickwell manor is my DREAM venue, I got happy about that place before I saw the price. It's like £6k for the venue alone. Our Budget is £4k.

Yeah - very pricey..check out those last two i added tho..they look good and the reviews seem very good! ;)
Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?

if they can't be bothered to reply to your emails i would't trust them. little things like that not being done are usually fairly indicative that the rest wont be up to scratch

not yet. I think we're still going to go look at this place. I've found 2 wedding reviews about this place that we're really good and only 1 bad one. There are a lot of people also saying that they we're more interested in a wedding that they were having that day than they were with guests staying there.

I guess we'll never know til we try ourselves. But we'll still keep on the look out.

Oh and I don't like the brends hotels. They're far too expensive and just look too hotely if you know what I mean.

I would keep on looking if I were you. If you have problems on the day you are going to regret going with them and it might spoil your memories of the day.

And, they have recent bad reviews. The initial review your first post contains wasn't a one off. The most recent was 5th Jan in one of those links! Don't touch them with a barge pole.
I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off :o

Hi, I'm also interested in this venue! Did you go and view it in the end? The wedding was in July 2006, so hopefully things have changed! Many thanks Kelly

    Hey Kelly,

Yes I went to view sandy cove :(

We went in Jan/Feb time and the outside was ok (pretty good for winter time), the restaurant and bar were nicely decorated and you could do many things in there, but the bedrooms were stuck in the 70! Big time. It really nothing like the website. The website gets your hopes up too much I think. My OH quite liked it though. I was just worried as we'll have 5 under 4 year olds and the evening is do is outside near the cliff edge!
