I don't know if anyone would have any advice for me so, this may just end up with me blowing off steam. I took out a joint membership for me and Hubby in Aug 09 for a 3 month contract. At the time, the sales person told us that the membership would simply terminate after 3 months unless if I informed them that I wanted to continue. I have been away in December and just did online banking to find they have continued to take £155 a month from me. When I phoned them, they told me I was supposed to give a months' written notice! What's the point of making it a 3 month contract if it is not??? Annoyingly I don't seem to have a copy of my contract anymore as I had a 'spring cleaning' and didn't think I needed it anymore! All I can say to other people who are considering this gym is beware and don't take the sales person's word for it - they probably tell you anything to make a sale so they can earn commission and then you are left with no proof afterwards. Grrr!!!

Read what you're asked to sign, and keep a copy until it doesn't matter any more.

The T&C are on the back of the form you signed (the yellow one). Mine was an ongoing but minimum 3 months contract, after that you are free to cancel giving one months notice - unlike other gyms where the minimum contact is usually 12 months. Maybe you have got confused by the wording but this is what mine was.

The proof is on the yellow copy, which you should have read and queries about the 3 months contract. It is a minimum 3 months contract.
