Talk talk, aka Carphone !!!!!house, bought AOL a couple of years ago. There should be an 0870 number for AOL on their help pages if you search hard enough or try this one from saynoto0870; 020 7348 8000

My wireless router has been a bit dodgy over the last couple of weeks but I was just putting that down to the snow.
I think we should start a capaign for the words "aol" and "problem" to appear side by side in the dictionary. Only 6 months left of my contract then I'm off in hunt of a new ISP:D.
(P.S I know aol isn't a real word btw!)0 -

The site www.saynoto0870.com finds alternative numbers to the premium rate ones. If you click the link and then click on the link in the green banner that says "search to find an alternative number" you can then either type in aol, or enter the 0844 number. Both options will then show you alternative numbers to ring. If you have inclusive landline calls at home you might be able to find a number that doesn't cost you.

The 0844 number still works, however, if it's engaged for ages chances are they are having issues. Even when you get through their techs can drive you potty, unless you do exactly what they say, even if you've already done it or know it won't work / is not the issue they can get pretty moody.
I don't blame them really, they probably have lots of folks give them a hard time about their accents but it's still a pain, thing is, even when you go through all that many times they've just said, oh there seems to be a problem with your exchange, try the internet again later
Mostly my connection is great but on the odd occasion it does go wrong it can be horrid, however, I get free calls to UK landlines and unlimited broadband (within their fair usage policy of course  ) and it's dead cheap
