I recently made some oat and raisin biscuits that didnt quite work out as well as usual. I ended up with a lot of crumbs and was about to bin them in sadness but my flatmate told me to put them in a tupperware and scatter them on my porridge in the morning. He said his mum used to do that. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0

My mum used to make a refridgerator cake using melted butter, syrup, cocoa and a spoonful or two of soft brown sugar. Melt together and then stir in the biscuit crumbs. Press into a cake tin, cool and cut into slices to eat. If you have any knocking around a coating of chocolate is fantastic with this as are a few raisins or chopped up dried apricots in the biscuit crumb mix. I think I might need to go and make some myself.
That gets my vote - yum. I have some dates too which will be lovely in it and plenty of choc from christmasLooking forward to the future.0 -

Try using gingernuts or digestives instead of the rich tea, I've even used custard creams.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0 -

Has anyone got any interesting recipes that can use up broken biscuits? We bought a box of already broken biscuits and have eaten all the interesting choc ones and are left with loads of plain broken biscuits and I'd like to do something OS with themDFW Nerd 941 Proud to be dealing with my debt

Use them to make a tiffin type tray bake? Or as the base to a cheesecake? The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0
