Family holiday in August

Hi all, we are looking to go away for a week to 10 days in the middle of August. We have 2 young children and want to avoid hotels b&b's etc and would rather a luxury cottage. We don't want to go to Norfolk, Dorset or Wales as we have 3 other holidays already booked to those destinations this year. Do you have any recommendations?
We would like somewhere picturesque and the cottage we would like a bit of luxury.....any ideas for destinations?

    Try www.ruralretreats.co.uk for starters.

We have yet to stay in a bad one. The lighthouses offer something unusual.

For somewhere different to visit I'd suggest Northumberland.

I don't know if Chark is booked already - surprised if it isn't, it's wonderful! Not just me who thinks so either!!!!!

We took our 2 yr old and 8 month old there a couple of years ago. Lovely luxury cottages on a farm, set in gorgeous surroundings. We got a ride on the tractor to the cow sheds and rides on the donkeys all included. You can visit the animals as much as you like. We collected eggs from the hen house for breakfast. There's a good sized playpark with a trampoline and large sand pit. Would very happily return.
Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?
