Pilon - RP2 form help

Hello,

I was made redundant a couple of months ago. I now have the RP2 form to claim pay in leu of notice but I'm not sure what to put in the box that says...

"How much did you receive or will you receive from all your work, during your notice period. Give the total of your earnings before taking off tax and NI".

The reason I'm not sure is because I got a new job 2 weeks before the end of my notice period and in those two weeks, I was accidently paid a full months salary instead of two weeks (this will be corrected next pay day).

Does anyone know if entering the months salary into this box reduce my pilon or should I just be entering two weeks worth of salary? Though if I enter two weeks salary and they check what I was actually paid that month, they wont be happy.

  • You are not legally entitled to the 2 weeks' pay you were mistakenly paid. The employer at your new job could ask for it back at any time within the next 6 years and you would have to pay it back or they could sue you for it. Therefore, I would enter two weeks pay of the RP2 form.

Thanks for that. I've gone with the two weeks. Just hope that it doesnt confuse them and reject my form etc.
  • Hi all,

I have a very good inkling as to how you feel. I was sacked on December 17th, without any verbal or written notice, a day after I spoke to my line manager and a company director who both assured me by e-mail and verbally that I would not be sacked, and that the 'discussion' was to cover workpractices within the company, and that and I quote: " We would place you with another section or department before we would discuss dismissal with you" To date I still do not know why al this happened, nor did I receive any notification that I have been sacked, other than a verbal message telling me that I would not be welcom on the company's premises  (I.E.: barred from the office). I reported for work and send an e-mail to that effect, and only this afternoon did I receive confirmation that my payment was released for work completed before December 16th. Now my question: What is an RP2 form and where can I obtain one? I have a contractual agreement that I should be paid 4 weeks in lieu of notice. I take it that I have been sacked, so now I wish to claim for the PILON. :D
Any help or information is greatly appreciated.:T

You highjacked another thread to ask a similar question and I've answered it there now.

All the questions in that part of the form relate to your new employment. The past tense is because it is about what was due then or in respect of the work done then - you might have received a pay increase since!
