Kittens wrecking my windows!!

Hi all

We have 2 kittens who are about 4 months old. They have systematically gone round the house stripping the silicone/seal strip from round the windows :eek::eek: where the frame meets the sill.

They have done 3 windows so far and walk around the house with their "prize" of white rubbery stuff hanging out of their mouths. I think it is Casper (the boy) who is the main culprit but I have only ever caught him after the event and never seen him in action.

Anyone elses cats done this and when I finally get my husband round to replacing the seal will they do it again? How can I prevent them from doing it?

Oh dear, aren't they little !!!!!!s sometimes!
You need to put something on it that they dont like. Try something citric like lemon juice, or orange. Olbas oil works for us, they hate anything that smells like menthol. Similarly something like vapo rub will work but you'll have to put up with the smell for a while!

Also try some double sided sticky tape. They dont like touching sticky things. Once they've lost interest you can peel it off again.
What matters most is how well you walk through the fire

Thanks for the tip, I will try vicks/olbas oil first - I don't mind the smell of it... in moderation ;)

Think when my husband replaces it (the speed he gets round to tackling DIY it could be some time ) I will try the double sided tape.
