in Credit cards
When an application is made for a card how long before the search appears on your CRA file.
I have heard varying opinions but need your knowledge.

It depends,
On my credit expert account it shows between 1-2 days, but also depends on the lender, and when they report it to the CRA.
Also itis worth to note that some lenders, only use one of the three Credit Reference Agencys, so if you only have access to one report you may never see it till you check the other agencies.Awaiting Inspiration......................0 -
The search will show up as soon as it's made since it's the CRA making a record of the access by the lender. Account information will show up when the CRA is updated by the lender.0

May not appear instantly on what you see when you login yourself, but its normally recorded instantly and visible to other lenders immediately. There have been attempts in the past when blitzing credit card applications for stoozing to pile in a load of applications on a Sunday hoping their systems don't update immediately but they always catch you
Try piling in a load of applications and see the credit limits offered drop away rapidly as each previous search is recorded

Lets say you view your credit file using Experian @ 9.00am and then apply for a credit card, you then log back onto Experian to see if the lender has performed a credit search
You wont be able to see any new searches on your own file until the following day as the file you view will be the same one that was pulled @ 9.00am that rule applies to both Experian and Equifax.
Furthermore Equifax only allows you to obtain one copy of your credit file in a 24hr period.0
