Troubles moving away from Sky to BT

I was with Sky for two years (tv,phone ,internet , line rental) but I decided to go the Freesat route . I told them I would like to cancel only my tv package but they said they can't as they are a media company.
They sneakily migrate me on the "Sky network " so I wasn't on a BT landline anymore.
I complained to them but that lead to nothing as they said I should have opted out when I was migrated from BT to Sky as they anounced me via a letter ( which I have never seen ).
Two days ago I signed up with BT online for an anytime package plus landline rental which worked out at £16.53 a month and no conection charge.I got the confirmation from BT and they said my service will be activated on 22.01.2010.
Yesterday I called SKY to cancel all my package with them which they did.
Yesterday also looking back at my order with BT I realized they got another package which is called "Evening and Weekend" wich was £0 as opposed to £4.99 . I called BT and told them I would like to ammend my order .
After they transferred me three times , finally I got an indian chap on the phone who told me that in order to ammend my order he has to cancel it first.
10 minutes later being on hold he tells me that I should go back to Sky and reactivate my account as he can't put the order through unless I am doing that .If I choose to proceed it will be a £125 connection charge
I asked him how could that be as my previous order had no connection charge and he said is nothing ha can do unless I am going to Sky and revoke my cancellation.
I called Sky this morning to cancel and they said they can't do that unles I am taking another 12 contract with them . Of course I declined
I went back to BT today an placed an order again for " Evening and weekend "

This time I got an order confirmation and no installation date but on the order it says very clear " total one off charges = 0" and monthly charges "£11.54"
I am desperate as I don't want to loose my phone number and also I don't think it would be fair to pay £125 reconection charge after on my initial order there was no charge and BT manage to cancel it. I will wait and see what it will happen to my existing order but I will be happy if anybody can help or tell me what should I do .
Thank you.

A copy of all correspondance sent to a customer is saved onto the customer's account on Chordiant, along with the date, time & operator details of when it was sent.
When ever you speak to Sky,get the Chordiant log on ID from who ever you speak to,ever office based erk has one. (although I cant remember mine!)
That way,if they say "But the's no notes to that effect..." you can reply "Well I was speaking to the 'AB123' on 12/01/10...."
It's also easier to track down the person you were speaking to.0 -
