Ipod Shuffle

I had my daughter's Ipod Shuffle plugged into the usb port on my laptop to charge it up and once it was charged she just pulled it out the usb port, now it will not work, does removing the ipod from the usb port without the computer saying it is safe damage the ipod?

I don't think it should. At least I've done it hundreds on times with mine and it's still working fine.

Is it completely dead? It's always worth moving the hold button on and off, then trying to plug it in again. Maybe reboot your laptop.

If it is dead, and still under Apple cover contact them. They're very good. My flatmates broke, they sent a box for him to send it back in (with postage paid) and during this time issued him with another one (took his card details incase he didn't send the broken one back). He had a working Shuffle within a couple of days.

in what way doesn't it work?

    Can the computer detect it?

If it can then you can try reinstalling the Ipod software:

Reset it, as per the instructions on this page.

I bought a 'broken' mini off ebay for nothing, wouldn't respond etc, reset it and bobs your uncle.
    I'd try a reset before a re-install (reset doesn't wipe songs / settings etc)
