Do I have to accept Paypal for collection only items?

Personally I would no longer sell high end goods on ebay that cannot be posted.I either sell small things that I am happy to lose, or make sure I can add postage somehow in case paypal is used.
likewise, i only sell items that can be posted now, usually with recorded delivery, even though i know some people say it doesnt always work.
i think for bigger bulkier items you are better off selling in the trade it really, i find a higher response on there, and u tend to get a better price too.A good friend can tell you what is the matter with you in a minute ...:A0 -
Like anything though there are ways around it. I will only accept cash if they are going to collect and i wil state as such in my auctions. Whilst you can't refuse paypal payments you can refuse that they collect in person. I simply state that, "If you wish to collect in person this can be arranged but I will only accept cash on collection, if you prefer to pay via paypal then the item(s) will be delivered by courier using a trackable method". If its a large item it will be around £70 for a pallet so thats the courier charge, it may be alittle more or less dependant on location but I will charge £70, small items I use DHL so will charge £10. People soon realise that by paying in cash they save money and most genuine buyers wont have a problem if its an item they really want.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0

Your listing can be pulled for this as you cannot state one payment method above another0 -

My statement is no different to saying cash on collection is prefered in the listing, I still give the buyer the option of paying via paypal should they so wish, but my preferred payment method is cash. If the buyer declines to pay via my preferred method then I decline the right to allow the buyer to collect in person. Yes it may put off potential buyers but its too much of a risk letting someone collect something for a few hundred pounds then they put a claim in for item not received.
If ebay fails to protect me as a seller I will have to protect myself and that's why I only accept cash on collection, any other payment method received will require the item to be sent by tracked delivery.Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.0
