USB sockets not working on PC tower

Try right clicking "my computer" then system properties click the hardware tab followed by device manager, expand the universal serial bus controllers and see if they are enabled or disabled there

I think I had the same problem when I built my pc with the help of a friend, I spent days trying to work out why the front usb ports arent working. First of all tried the bios settings, no use. Tried everything until I found out it was the jumper settings on the motherboard, apparently they usually are correct when you build the pc but this one had to be set to a different setting. Bit hard to explain but if you know someone who knows computers get them to have a look at this before you start buying new hubs etc.

And also it is true about the front usb ports, my rear usbs are fully powered and the front ones are underpowered.
