How to get to Bruges for a (cheap) long weekend?

Hi All,
I am based a little south west of London and I REALLY need a few days away so I went searching for the cheapest way to get to Bruges for a long weekend.
Cheapest route I could find was £52 return by coach from London Victoria. Eurostar would have been nice but at over £300 they can forget it. Standsted is nearly three hours away by train so many cheap flights are out too (which is a pity).
Anyway, can anyone beat my £52 return fare?
Is it feasible (and cheap and take less than 6 hours) to get a train to Dover, ferry to Calais and train / coach from there?
Regards,
HywelC

You don't mention accommodation but this includes 2 nights in a 4* hotel at £189 http://www.railbookers.com/breaks/belgium/bruges/5057/1378?source=google&campaign=bruges
Not bookable online so there's always the possibilty it's a bit of bait and switchWhat goes around - comes around0 -
Thanks for this. Not concerned about accom as will just stay at a hostel (YHA etc) or something similar.
Just wondering if anyone knows of a cheaper / quicker waay from London to Bruges (excluding hitchhiking!)

Hi
I really would not suggest using Eurolines to go to Bruges. I went with a friend 2 years ago and we were stopped at both the French and British checkpoints on the way back, the coach emptied of luggage and searched, adding 4 hours to our journey.
Also they stopped and checked our passports both ways and because there were foreign nationals travelling with cards it took over an hour to do this. I promise you it was the journey from hell!!
If you go onto the eurostar website and put in train and hotel you can get 3 nights in a decent hotel in Bruges and travel from £173.
Hope that this helps and have a great time.0
