my nephew parked up outside his house today and went inside
came out a few hours later to find someone had slid into his car then done one
he is 24 with about 4 years no claims and fully comp
his mate says it has damaged the track rod the drive shaft and the wheel is bent in along with a dint in the side (not sure where or how big)
he hasnt reported it to the police yet
the car is worth around 800 quid
will he loose his no claims bonus if he claims
looking for any advice on what to do next

    I'm not a boy!

He asked (as I highlighted to indicate that I was responding to that question) whether his nephew would lose his no claims if he claimed from his insurance.

    The answer is yes.

Do you have to get everything explained in detail to you?

    Why is the answer yes???
Usually with NCB you are allowed x number of claims in n number of years.

One claim does not mean you lose your NCB

Check the policy. Think you'll find he is good for another 3 years.
Another claim though, then back to "yes"

It depends on his policy, he should have reported to the p[police as soon as it was found but I also suspect his car is a write off .

Only if he has his NCB protected, some insurers wont protect NCB until you have at least 4-5 years. So yes, if the OP's nephew doesn't have protected NCB then he will lose some.
