I'm not talking about people who are in debt & genuinely want help - I mean the ones who clearly are not & just come on to take the P*** out of those who are (ie) see extreme money saving for example! What used to be a genuinely funny thread no longer is........

Yeah... People are friendly... very supportive... guess I was just unhappy I wasnt in that position... some people worry about oweing £10 i guess....

Maybe the moderators could delete the recent posts and close the thread so its there for all to see - it is very funny up until the last few pages. It seems to be genuinely annoying people on here. Other than that everyone is very nice

Oh, I see what you mean now. I only looked at that thread once and it seemed to degenerate into filth after a short while so I just ignore it now. Life's too short and all....

I can never understand why some people seem to enjoy others' misfortune whether it be on here or in real life. You are a better person than they if you can rise above it.

can you provide some examples?

I saw one the other day, a poster had a small debt and had the money in his bank and was asking if he should pay it nowor wait till month end and get the £2.00 interest from his savings account.... That naffed me off a bit.... May be just a bit jelous that im not in that boat !

seems sensible to me- look after the pennies the pounds will after themselves- that £2 would pay for a packed lunch for a few days. i read another posting where some had £42 in their holiday simply from saving loose change

Problem is people keep responding they'll keep going - fuel to the fire & all that! Having said that I do realise that asking my ? probably just increases their enjoyment! Just wondered if it annoyed anyone else! Not that I dont like a laugh & joke but being in debt (esp when its as much as I've got - ie about 35000) just isnt funny & despite various traumatic life events (divorce etc) this beats all the others hands down for distress while also being liberating IYKWIM (now that I've dealt with it!!)....

But this *is* real life. The communication is abstracted (i.e. we're not directly talking to one another), but these are real people, with real problems, real hopes and real aspirations. Yet people here are dealing properly with their problems, progressing one day at a time, despite barriers, set-backs and real wuckfits.

Some people here have coped with problems that would have sent me so far into denial, I would be standing next to the Pyramids.

Those people who try to do you down are irrelevant - like finding a button in your £2 jar. People here should be really proud of themselves, one and all.
