He/she is probably out ticketing more cars with make-believe invoices0 -

Interseting: which part of contract law is it that allows a person to be 'caught out' into entering a contract again?0 -
But who is Eric? Can't be Ash as the spelling is too good and is probably not Perky as he is too occupied as the Midlands babe magnet.Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!0

I read all these posts but will still admit to being scared. I received a fine for staying too long at a retail park. However I was not the driver, or in that car. It was for genuine shopping and lunch. I received a demand from the parking co. to which I did reply, using one of Martin's letters. I have since received a letter from a baliff and another letter from Co. saying my appeal has been unsuccessful. Do I still just ignore them. Concerned re that case in 2008, in Oldham?0

That's the whole point of the scam - they try to scare you with threatening letters.
I received a fine for staying too long at a retail park
No you didn't. Only Councils and Police can issue parking fines.
. However I was not the driver, or in that car.
So you didn't form a contract, and cannot be liable for any breach.
It was for genuine shopping and lunch. I received a demand from the parking co. to which I did reply, using one of Martin's letters
Best advice (repeated many times on this forum) is don't contact them. Ever.
. I have since received a letter from a baliff
No you haven't - it's from a Debt Collector, who has no power at all. Bailiffs can only be involved if you lose in court and don't pay.
and another letter from Co. saying my appeal has been unsuccessful.
Quelle surprise!
Do I still just ignore them. Concerned re that case in 2008, in Oldham?
The Oldham case is a well-known set-up, and out of thousands of "tickets", the only success that PPCs can quote. Google Excel and Hetherington-Jakeman for a better understanding of how Judges view PPC claims in the rare event they ever go to court. Meanwhile, keep ignoring!
I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.0 -

Don't be scared, this is easy! Once you've seen all the example letters on the first post in the first thread on this sub-board here, you can just play 'snap' with the letters when they arrive! Link here:

Honestly, it's not scary when you've seen a preview of these letters and realise that you have NOT had a fine and have NOT had a letter from a Bailiff. I ignored a ticket last year, plus 3 letters (exactly as shown on our sticky thread by Crabman). I almost missed them when they stopped writing to me, as each ridiculous, 'red ink & bold typeface' letter made me laugh! :rotfl:PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Your actions did not cause actual loss. If you parked horizontally over 2 bays every day, G24 might have a case that you're depriving Argos of custom.
This is G24 though, so no chance of court anyway.
I hope you'll be writing and telling Argos of your disgust. You might get some vouchers.0
