Hi all
Just a quick update. Following a a scary decision to sell up and be debt free (hopefully), we sold our house and moved all within 4 weeks!!!!! The first guy through the door bought the house and was in a completed chain - how lucky were we?!
So we are now renting a beautiful house although we have discovered that the dripping shower upstairs that we were made aware of and told by the LL would be sorted has now resulted in a water damaged ensuite floor and lots of flooding through to downstairs. Two plumbers later and lots of mess and the removal of said shower, we have heard nothing from LL or plumber. So a letter to the letting agents will be sent tomorrow.
Next to tackle out Creditors and pray they accept low settlement figures as unfortunately we did not walk away with enough to pay them the actual amounts owing, but hey, they cant have what we havent got!!!
Never rented before so not really sure whats ahead of us, but other than the water problem all seems to be going quite well.
Many thanks to all of you who supported me through my decision making time.
Kind regards
Nicky

hope you get it sorted, can you keep us posted on how the renting/debt clearing goes as im having to go down the same road as you in the next year or so.
did you have any issues renting and passing the credit check etc if you have debt issues?0 -
I'm dreading speaking to the creditors but we can only offer what we have and now we're renting we have no assets so it's our offer or nothing. As far as the renting, we were up front from the beginning with the agent, telling them our credit rating was dire and that hubby had no job so prob wouldn't pass a credit check. We were lucky in that we had enough equity in the sale of our house to pay 6 mnths rent up front. This obviously helped us to reassure the LL and agent that we're not going to mess them around for rent. Will def keep you posted. Good luck with your debt task.0

thanks, we will also have enough equity to pay 6 months rent in advance so hope that will be ok for most LL.
i wish the best of luck with the creditors, i long for the day we are debt free...0
