Anybody heard of a "PRT" SD memory card

I recently ordered a Sandisk SD card for my digital camera from a seller on Amazon. However, what arrived was a PRT 'super high speed' one. I wanted this to take on holiday, so need a reliable card and don't want any nasty surprises!

Seller has offered refund but I was just wondering if anybody has used them and if they are any good. I always use Sandisk as I get good results and they are reliable.

They are high security cards, they have a switch on side so you don't accidently lose images.

    YOu got that from here:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1GB-SD-Card-Secure-Digital-Camera-Memory-Card-New-UK_W0QQitemZ7615644237QQcategoryZ18871QQcmdZViewItem

It can't just be the switch, most SD Cards have a switch for write protection!!

I think it may just be a cheapo card, flogged off, with some super spec that isn't actually really.

PRT sounds like a brand name to me?

    Quote:

"This PRT SD Memory Card comes with an erasure preventive switch"

I think that it's just noting an additional feature in that phrase, rather than it telling us that PRT = Write Protection?

Send it Back in my oppinion.

Go to https://www.mymemory.co.uk for memory cards - they are a highly reliable company with rock bottom prices!!

    Thanks leesmithg and matty

I didn't buy from eBay, I searched Amazon for a Sandisk and it stated clearly it was a Sandisk I had bought.

I also thought he had fobbed me off with a cheapo so I was not happy. Contacted him and he said he would send a Sandisk but it hasn't arrived, however today I got an email to say I have had money refunded, and I can keep the card.

I don't want to be picky here, especially as I have got it for nothing now, but I want reliable cards for a special holiday. I will try it out on unimportant stuff but will go to the website you recommended and get another one, just to be on the safe side!

    Thanks for the link, matty.

PRT is a brand name. I've got a couple. They are OK. not as fast as my Sandisk or integral cards, but they work OK.

Your welcome! As I suspected, a brand name.

At least you got a FREE Memory card! I certainly wouldn't mind finding this seller on amazon =P

The story goes on........ to summarise.....

Order Sandisk 512mb, receive PRT 512mb
Email complaint, replies he will send Sandisk
Sandisk doesn't arrive, but receive refund and told to keep PRT one
Today receive another card, this time a 1gb! "Dane-Elec" make?

So no complaints from me, tempted to add this guy to my favourites :D

Only one problem - what to say in feedback??
