I need to restore the laptop to its original state using the restore disc, do i just put it in and let it do its job ? Reason why i need to do this is that everytime the laptop is turned on a message comes up about new hardware found, ive checked dev manager and it says the video controller(yellow ?) is whats wrong so i click update driver and it wants me to put in a cd which i dont have unless it wants me to put the restore cd in. Its an acer 3273 with xp if it helps.

Rather than a full restore, can you get the driver from Acer's website as an individual download?
I did this for my ACER
If this doesn't work, the resore CD's will walk you through the restore. I used mine when I bought a larger HDD. It was quite easy, I just booted from the CD and followed the instructionsSaving a house deposit. Member no.7 100% of target
