Faulty wallet - Secret Sales

Hi guys,
I'd like a little advice on a faulty item, please.
In September I ordered a Smith & Canova leather wallet from Secret Sales. Not sure exactly when it was received, but it shows on the site as being dispatched 30 September 2009. At the start of December, part of the pull tab bit snapped off the zip, making it really difficult to open. Note that this was a piece of the zip pull rather than a separate fob. Anyway, I emailed them and got a reply 15/12 telling me they would investigate. This afternoon I received the following:
We are sorry that you have been disappointed with the quality of your purchase. Rest assured
As the order was placed in September 2009 and a reasonable amount of wear and tear can occur over a period of 2 months nevertheless we would like to offer you a 5% discount off the cost of the item.
Should you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Also, it's worth noting that I paid for some of the order using credit they had given me due to a previous order being cancelled. It wasn't expensive, but frankly it's not about that as they've really ticked me off!
What should I expect in these circumstances? Am I being unreasonable in thinking that the zip of a wallet should stand up to normal usage for more than 2 months, and that this is more than 'a reasonable amount of wear and tear'? Can anyone advise me as to what I should be asking?
Thanks

After only two months I would be looking for an exchange or a full refund. Contact Trading Standards and see what they advise.0
