When you meet with the venue make sure that you get everything you talk about, especially discounts and price freezes etc written down.
It wont be so bad for you because you're getting married fairly quickly, but we booked our venue over 2 years in advance, and were told we'd get 2008 prices for our 2010 wedding. When we asked for confirmation of our deposit and prices we were told it would be 2009 prices + inflation.
I went over the ladies head to her boss and we agreed on 2008 prices plus no more than 5%, which is annoying, but given the scale of things whats ~ £300 compared to having to find a new venue etc.0
