Urgent - Please Help!!!...

Hi all, having a problem with my PC. Its an ACER ASPIRE T130 desktop, which has an AMD 3200+ 64 processor and running windows XP. Whilst in the BIOS I clicked on restore all defualt settings, and now both the case fan and CPU fan are running on maximum all the time and not regulating the temperature. I have tried upgrading the bios to the latest version but it has still not worked.

I have tried installing "speedfan" which allows me to change the fan speed manually - it initially reduces it for a couple of seconds but then it goes back to full speed.

Any thoughts will be much appreciated....

Don't change any more settings as you obviously don't really know what you are doing and may make things worse!

yeah, there'll be an option somewhere in the bios (where depends on BIOS and mobo make, just have a hunt) that'll be called something along the lines of 'smartfan', or ' incrediblycleverfan', or possibly 'smart temp control'. you get the idea. turn it 'ON', and you're done. by default these advanced features are turned off, which is why it reverted.

i've looked all through the bios - can't find any option even remotely similar to this! Im thinking maybe it was just a coincidence it occurred at the same time as me changing the settings and the problem may be with the motherboard?
