Employment tribunal question

Just come back from a strange Employment tribunal hearing where the judge seemed very confused and unsure of his own judgement.
We went there to claim because we were given no consultation of being made redundant.
The company went into administration and made most of the staff redundant on that day. However I was kept on to help the administrators close down the company and was made redundant on 31 August 2009.
The judge said he had never heard of this before and we would not be entitled to the compensation for lack of consultation because we weren't the first people to be made redundant, and as such knew we were gonna be made redundant at some point, just not given specific date.
Anyone experienced this before and knows if this judgement is correct. The judges uncertainness has made me question this.
If anyone could help that would be great

Have a look on here if you aren't familiar already. You can appeal if you can get clarification of what you should have been entitled to. I can't help there but ACAS ought to be able to advise you. Be warned, if you had a solicitor representing you, ACAS will decline to comment, as will the Community Legal Service who also offer free advice. But you could always call up and hypothetically ask...
Get a copy of the written judgement by writing to the Bury St Edmunds address given on http://www.employmenttribunals.gov.uk/FAQ/faqs.htm
Good Luck.Thank you to all who contribute to all of this super site:smileyhea !
