Gas fire/Is it costly?

Its an old fire. The grills. Heats the rool up VERY warm. I ran it for an hour and bit. Took 20 odd pence. So I think we shall just use it and hour or so bed put halogean heater on in bedroom.
Another factor is we took wallpaper off the wall with the mould growing. Bf thinks me doing so will not help?
Going off topic. You should see the crack right across this damp wall, been attempt to plaster it. Bit worried as there is also crack on the ceiling above it. I might be para, but keep think the wall will cave in.0 -

They did say there were going dril into the wall from outside to have a look at cavity. That was when there was wallpaper on the wall. However by taking it off, discovered a crack along the wall and goes onto the other wall.
The crack on the ceiling was there when I moved in, however I think its got bigger. Unsure though.0
