I have just bought a 250gb Seagate for £76 from Dabs, including delivery. I ordered Sunday and it arrived today.

Here is the link: Seagate 250gb

I have just noticed that it now says stock due in 3-4 days, so it might well take longer to get it.

There are a few threads about external hard drives on the techie board, try doing a search for them - Pc world have some Toshiba drives and pretty decent prices if you want to buy from a shop. Links here:

    Toshiba 250gb - £79.99

    Toshiba 320gb - 109.99

I notice there are two different Seagate 250gb USB2 versions available. Dabs.com has one with a 8MB cache for £70 and savastore has a 16MB version for £99. Am I likely to notice much difference in occasional home use?

    Correction to above post:

I see PCWorld refer to it as as a 16mb Buffer. Will I notice any difference between an 8mb and 16mb Buffer?
  • Seagate 160GB external harddrive for £69.99 ( I beleive this includes postage).

  • Sorry,

Have now seen that you were referring to a 250gb not 160gb hard drive.

I have just noticed that it is back in stock at dabs. I would just like to say that it runs very cool and is incredibly quiet.
