Welcome Finance

I put a complaint in with welcome finance about my ppi on 9th december 2008, waited 8 weeks heard nothing, gave them another letter giving further eight weeks nothing, sent another letter giving 14 days or would go to financial ombudsman and heard nothing.

Contacted financial ombudsman who took ages due to backlog but finally got response from welcome finance who agreed to settle and were given eight weeks to contact me which is up on tuesday and have heard nothing so contacted they today as local office are saying they know nothing about complaint, got passed from office to office who knew nothing til finally someone agreed they did have the settlement letter but said it will be at least 3/4 more months before they even look at my settlement :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: as they have a backlog and in the meantime i have to keep paying my over inflated monthly payments to them these people are impossible arrghhh!!!!!! They just make you feel there is nothing you can do. I have been paying £108.72 for 6 years 4 months for a £3000 loan

    Hi and welcome.;)

So sorry to hear this, that is just pathetic!

I would therefore (even though I understand the FOS state they close the file, and if you've not done so yet) contact the ombudsman who was dealing with your complaint. Sometimes they will write to chase them up on this for you, fair enough if they said a months time but not that amount of time!

I think the longer we all have to wait, if they don't pay out by the timescales then more compo such as inconvenience out of goodwill should be added on top, shame they don't being that in.

So I take it you will still be paying the same with the PPI then?
And of course you have to wait that long before you pay this on a reduced rate.
This is not fair, although you will or should get it all back with what you paid up to date of when they do actually sort this out, but realistically its still putting you out of pocket even longer.
Mention this to the FOS dealing with your case and ask is there anything they can do to help in this situation.

Good luck, hope you hear something sooner.
    Fingers crossed.;)

  • Could i just refuse to make payments until this is sorted as they have refused to make the payments back to me of the money thay have agreed they owe, where would i stand legally?

I know what you mean, and how frustrating this may be for you, the thing is here is that they could default you on this if you miss any payments, then they will use what is owed to you on the account where you would miss out on receiving all your money owed.

I would tell them if your in hardship and request they try to refund what is owed to you earlier than they stated.
    Fingers crossed for you.;)
