EA sent me the figures from rightmove said last 2 weeks 580 people were looking for my type of property,10.7% actually viewed it online. Can anything concrete be determined from these figures? EA branch average was 6.3% whatever that means.

I also keep seeing properties that have sold still showing for sale on their site. It seems out of date well at least it is where I live on at least two properties....0

one particular estate agent around here does not update, even when you point it out to them.i am not sure thats rightmoves problem though.0

I dont think it means anything in particular as some people just speculate on property types and prices using rightmove, I am one of them, no intention of buying I'm just a nosey old saddo.
Tell your estate agent if they want to quote you statistics to quote actual viewing stats - they will be more useful!I am a Mortgage Adviser

I think a lot of people who aren't even looking to buy search Rightmove. Loads of people do it at work here, they're so in love with property, yet I know most of them couldn't afford to 'trade up'. Therefore, I think the stats mean diddly squat.0

hollydays, it all depends where your property comes up in a search. If somebody does a search for a property in Milton Keynes & leaves the other criteria blank, the most expensive properties would be shown first, therefore their search figures would be 'untrue'. The click thru figure is more important, people have seen the basic information about your property & have decided to find out more.
The branch average is the % of people that actually click thru for more information on a proeprty, yours is doing better than the branch average.
More point to you is the number of actual viewings being generated by the agent's marketing.0 -
Don't you just love statistics.
According to Rightmove 10 million people are looking for homes on their site, that's one-sixth of the entire population of the uk on the move - apparently. Or half of all homes in private ownership currently on the market - apparently.
What they don't tell you is that half of their stats relates to activity from internal administration of their main 3 shareholder networks (halifax, connells, countrywide) who use rightmove as their office database, but they don't bother to take that out of the stats - something to do with making the company look bigger for the flotation.
half is quite a good statistic - if you half Rightmove's figures you might get somewhere near the true 'real person who doesn't work for our shareholders' visitor number, but you would probably have to half it again to remove duplicated visits, so now we are down to about 2.5 million visitors per month which is about one-quarter of where we started.
Take out the people who are just browsing the site because they're bored at work and want to do some online dreaming.....0 -

So true, I have a nose most days out of interest/boredom and Im not buying or selling as yet:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0
