Why do people still fall for these scams? I have read messages on there warning people of the scammers because they have lost money sending it to them to have the dog shipped to their address, I mean come on are people really that thick?
If people were not so gulible then you wouldn't get these scam adverts.

Because people are stupid and think they can get a pedigree dog for £150.
Recently ALL ads in dog section are scam ads and Gumtree does ntohign about it.
All same text, same type of photos, same price (regardless of the "breed").
As long as people go for it - scammers are laughing.0 -
Yeah but why still send money before you see the dog? As soon as you are told to send money you should have alarm bells ring. They must think the English are doughnuts because they are mostly Nigerians who scam us

Well..... if the 'English' are foolish enough, or doughnuts as you put it
Don't think it's only English who get scammed
Nor is it mainly done by Nigerians
just what is your point?0 -

Or it could be foreigners new to the English version of gumtree and they don't fully understand English, don't know the local market, and think it's normal to get bargains at the prices they see.
The site is used heavily by foreigners. Also, I think ads should only be allowed where there is a phone number to contact, not just by hidden email address.0
