    I'm probably in the minority here but....if it is a dream home and you can afford it I would offer asking....can always lower if survey is not so good....if its for the long term then 5k may not be a huge deal a few years down the line especially if its rare that houses of that type come on the market....

    What will be will be though

    We just lost a dream home, and have lost hubbys ideal project too ;) you do get over it, but the first house we lost, which was the one he really wanted, we lost because he wasn't willing to spend the money. He does regret it now, but you do move on to the next so to speak.

    Well... I spoke to the agent this morning and had decided to slightly up my VERY VERY VERY last offer ready for the head to head.....and..................I am still waiting

    My very very very final offer....... HAS BEEN ACCEPTED yippeeeeeeOh the mental and emotional torture!!!In the end I offered £305.500K, well within budget and is (on the face of it anyway) perfect for our families needs....I'm very happy and relieved.... now the really work (and worrying starts).
