I've a reasonably new (2 months) 'Acer' desktop PC running 'Vista' I tried to download an email attachment that required me to use my windows media player, I've had no problems till now.
I'm getting no response? nothing happens?
I've gone into programs and clicked on media player, still no response?
Any help greatly appreciated, thank you.

Found this I don't know if it will fix the issue you have but it might be worth a try. I would take a system restore point first just to be safe.

What are the last three letters after the dot on the file you are trying to play?
What are your UAC settings ?
Does your Media Player play other music / video stuff ok ?
- it sounds like either :
- you have 'no rights'
- or don't have the correct 'codec'
- or the file is corrupt
- or your virus / protection will not allow you to play it
Usually to will get a message, it's very unusual to get as you say 'no response' so a bit more info on the exact type of file name would help !Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
