Getting married - but keeping my surname. What do I need to do?

I don't think passports show a title at all shouldn't be anything to change there0

Damn Mother-in-Law will insist on addressing everything to Mrs Hubbysurname even though I have told her a hundred times. She knows it is the one way she can wind me up & I cannot do anything about it.
Child has taken hubbys surname, poor thing (it's a horrid surname), but hubby would have been really offended if not. Keeping my surname was my choice & against hubbys wishes, having a child was a joint choice so I compromised on the surname.
HTH;)
Hark! When having offspring, and choosing to keep your own name (if hubby's is the pits), please go double barrelled?? It's not just the preserve of the well to do, it's for anyone who wants to retain their own name, not subsume it to their husband's, especially if their (maiden) name is in any way "better" or more mellifluous. And, let me tell you, the children, as they grow up, LOVE IT to bits, as they are (usually) the only people in the whole world with that surname! This was an unexpected bonus, realised once the children became teenagers/adults, for choosing to double barrel the surname. Whatever you put on their birth certificate, they are stuck with, so give it some thought.0 -
So what happens then if a person with a double barrel surname marries and wants to take their spouses name as well??:D0

Wow, very interesting debate about surnames. My Wife took my surname and I don't think either of us gave it another thought.
I think I would have been very disappointed if she had decided to keep her maiden name - almost no point in getting married ! Certainly would have gone mental if there had been any question about our kids not taking my surname.
Personally I find the use of Ms. and double barrel surnames just pretentious b0llox - sorry.0
